大家好dà jiā hǎo (hello everyone),
It was good to see you all. I want to express my big admiration for those who did the holiday homework and turned it in on time. Your positive learning attitudes encourage me to work harder to teach you Chinese. Thank you! The small portion of students who did not turn in their homework, please turn it in to my mailbox before next Tuesday for full credit.
Our January curriculum will focus on reviewing the learned materials and learn about Chinese New Year. The learned materials are different variety of greetings, telling people your name, counting, colors, telling people your family members, and the songs. 5th -8th grade students also include where do you live and what is your nationality. These topics are included in the Q2 test on 1/17 and 1/18. The Chinese New Year will include 12 zodiac animals, the story of Chinese New Year, and how Chinese people celebrate it.
Starting from 3 Q, each student is required to build up your own word bank. The words are slightly different in different grades. The amount of words will also differ in different grades. The Chinese characters are interesting to learn. I will show you the correct stroke order for each word and check if you follow the stroke order. The character writing starts from writing your own Chinese name. You should practice it as many times as you can because I will ask you to write your Chinese name on each paper. Have fun writing!
have a good week!
