Dear parents and students,
Thursdays and Fridays are the days of the week that I feel the most energetic because it is rewarding to see each student’s learning capability improve. I can tell some of you have had the “feeling” of the Chinese language and can easily pick up. Some of you suddenly open up to speak and respond in class. Some of you realize the importance to focus in class and learn quickly. I am proud of all of your improvements.
However, I would like to ask you to turn in your homework on time. I design the homework for you to review based on your learning progress every week. If you do it, it will help you prepare for the next week. If some of you would like to scan and e-mail the overdue homework to me, my e-mail address is [email protected].
February 10 is the first day of 2013 Chinese New Year. We have learned the 12 zodiac animals and the story of 年. We will continue to learn how and what Chinese people do to celebrate the New Year. If possible, you can research about Chinese New Year and bring the results to class to share and discuss. I would like to see more proactive inputs from everyone to ensure your knowledge of Chinese. Please to study the related Chinese words so you can use them when you talk to people about Chinese New Year.
As to the pen pal project, 5th through 8th grade students have completed their self-introduction. I am glad to see all of you already have learned how to introduce yourself in Chinese. 1-4th grades will do the same this week as well as the other 4 middle students who were not in class yesterday. I will wait until everyone has completed their self-introduction to scan the work to China. Thank you for your participation and work.
There is a Chinese New Year Party on 2/9 in Ann Arbor, the detailed information is in the following for your reference: Date: February 9, 2013, Saturday
For this party, you don’t need to buy the tickets if you just come for the program and do not plan to stay for dinner.
Have a nice weekend,
张老师
