Dear parents and students,
There are many thanks that I want to give.
I want to give thanks with my heart to: parents who drove the students to participate 2013 Michigan China Quiz Bowl, students who had the courage to go to the tournament, and students who did the posters for cultural contest. I admire everyone spending time for preparation, getting up early on Saturday, and staying at the event for more than five hours. I hope this was a good experience for all participants and inspired your motivation in learning Chinese.
I also want to thank the funds from PTO. We used the funds to purchase 12 Chinese books, Chinese New Year banners, and red envelopes to celebrate Chinese New Year. The rest of the funds were used towards the 2013 Michigan China Quiz Bowl.
I want to remind everyone to review how to say the food words whenever you have the chance. For example, if your family has pasta for dinner, you should think of pasta as面条miàn tiáo, if you have a sandwich for lunch, you should be able to know that sandwich is三明治sān míng zhì, etc. We will do a final project about food. For grade 1-4, you will design a weekly menu as if you were the school cafeteria manager. For grade 5-8, you will edit a skit about going to a Chinese restaurant. I will video tape you and let you watch yourself on video. I will give you clear instructions in class. Since we don’t have many lessons before school ends so please review all the learned materials little by little daily to make the final project easier.
One final request is about homework again. There are still students who did not turn in homework on time. This is not a good learning attitude. Please find a way to improve and also ask me for help.
Have a nice week,
张老师
