大家好dà jiā hǎo ( Hello everyone),
It was nice to see all of you again after 感恩节gǎn ēn jiē(Thanksgiving), especially the 5th -8th grade students. There is a commonly used Chinese-English phrase, 好久不见hǎo jiǔ bú jiàn (long time no see), I hope you can use it sometimes in your daily life when you see someone again after a short while. I am also happy that the students have still retained the learned materials.
Starting this week, I will give out printed agendas for you. You should keep it as a review sheet during the week. If you have any questions, you should ask me immediately. I will also post the Agenda sheet on the school Chinese webpage. I always put a lot of activities on the agenda, so if we don’t do an activity, I will recycle them for the next week.
I made an oral survey on students this week about going online to read about the Chinese webpage, 95% of students did not read about it. I encourage you to read about it so you can have some resources to go with your Chinese learning.
As to late homework, I need your cooperation.
1. If you are absent, I will give the homework with your name on it and put it in my mailbox (I will let Mrs. Pennisi know about this). This way you don’t need to download and print it out. I have prepared your homework and I don’t want to waste natural resources.
2. You can also turn in your late homework in my mailbox. If you turn it in before Thursday, which is the day I check my mail box, you can still get full credit. Otherwise, the credit you receive will be decreasing each week.
Each class is different in their learning progress. The worksheets needed to turn in next week (12/6 and 12/7) are in the following:
1-2 grades, two colors worksheets and two pen pal surveys
3rd grade, two pen pal surveys
4th grade, favorite color survey and two pen pal surveys
5th grade, character writing of your Chinese name and two pen pal surveys
6th grade, two pen pal surveys, preparation to present the Color song in class (the words of the song are on the agenda. If you don’t remember the melody, you should go to the Chinese webpage to listen to it)
7th grade, favorite color survey, character writing sheet and two pen pal surveys.
8th grade, two pen pal surveys, read the first page of the 11/30 agenda for the test on 12/7.
I will use the 12 cute animal images on top left corner to introduce the 12 Chinese zodiac animals. I hope you spend some time to look at the picture to identify what are the animals in the zodiac before you come to next class. Thanks.
